In 2006, 21-year old car enthusiast John Guerrieri was renting sedans for a bachelor party. It was there that he discovered a strong interest in the luxury ground transportation industry. Further encouraged by an uncle to pursue his passion, Guerrieri began building his company with the first vehicle he acquired.

“Customer service is integrated into what we do day-to-day,” Guerrieri says. He emphasizes the importance of getting Dream Limousines’ customer service representatives equipped with knowledge of all aspects of operations. This ensures that potential customers are given proper information when they visit and check out the vehicles. To keep ahead, all of us at Dream Limousines give above and beyond one hundred percent of our effort for our clients. For example, aside from sending confirmation, driver information, and GPS location to clients, we also solicit post-trip feedback to ensure the trip went smoothly and we can improve on our future trips if needed. Our 1,000+ weddings a year portfolio is a reflection of our high-level customer service and strong reputation.
Guerrieri believes that savvy marketing is key to becoming widely-known in the limousine service business. From significantly investing in traditional marketing (via yellow pages and referrals from friends in the wedding business), he now loves learning about the newest trends in digital marketing, including online ads, email, and text marketing, and chatbots. By exploring more advertising options, he reaches more clients and hence may score a competitive edge. “The real question is, what haven’t we implemented?” he jokes.
Our Story Continues
Today, Dream Limousines is a highly sought-after retail business for weddings, making it one of the best limousine services in Detroit. It now employs 34 employees and maintains a fleet of 22 vehicles. If the company’s next expansion plan succeeds, it would tap mini-coaches and motorcoaches as well.
The Road to Success
For Guerrieri, a company needs a good business plan to succeed. This means setting realistic goals for yourself and working toward them. He also encourages getting a mentor or joining a Facebook group where you can ask questions and trade ideas with others. Finally, the work-life balance is important. To relax and recharge, Guerrieri loves to play golf, travel, and explore fine restaurants.
